Our take on the 28,000 BTU Slide Out Chassis Air Conditioner with 21,000 BTU Heat Pump
This Friedrich unit is a 28,000 BTU air conditioner built around a slide-out chassis, which makes it easier to install and remove from a window opening. It is designed to cool large rooms of up to about 1,900 square feet and includes a 21,000 BTU heat pump, adding heating capability to the cooling function. Model KHVL28B35A is aimed at shoppers who want serious cooling capacity in a single window unit.
It will likely suit those with a large room or open living area that a smaller unit would struggle to cool. Before buying, confirm that your window opening can accommodate the chassis and that you have a suitable electrical supply for a unit of this size. Check how it fits your window frame and whether the surrounding wall or sill allows for proper installation.
